Happy Giving Thanks Day! Sadie's mama and daddy are giving thanks that Sadie is feeling better and we are grateful for the week home as a family (forced by the flu virus). Campfires and smores (brush piles be gone), gingerbread houses (thanks to Scott's coworker, Bill and wife Sherri), clean gutters, snuggle time with Agnes, August, and Cinder. . . couldn't ask for much more. Thank you.

sadie and her mama are home trying to take care of each other since illness forced us to postpone the pennsylvania trip. on a more positive note, we did get to go to asheville last weekend to visit sadie's godparents, chad and paula. sadie's mamaw, mama, and daddy went to see nanci griffith, doyle lawson, bryan sutton, and others while sadie played with chad and paula. it was a wonderful trip, a good visit, and lovely weather. many thanks to chad and paula for the fine eats (sunny almond spread, salmon breakfast sandwiches, etc.), the hospitality, the childcare, and the photos (all taken by p. leatherwood).

a giant thanks to kate for making the trek to see us. it sure was fun. sadie, scott, cinder, august, agnes, and i all miss you and can't wait til next time.
